that's my new favorite song...i'm making it up as i go...kind of like life :]

tonight, here's what i have for you:

1.  el blog-o i currently "under construction".  i'm in the process of giving it a bit of a face lift, but since i know NOTHING about html code and what not, i'm relying on instructional websites that i find by googling things like "how to make a three column blogger template" and "how to change background on blogger page" i'm a loser, i know, but i don't have the dough to pay someone to do it, so i'm left to venture into the unknown and figure it out myself...so far i've done ok...but there's a long way to go! :]

2.  i made the most AMAZING smoothie at my parent's house this afternoon...strawberry and pineapple.  yummmmmmmmm :]

3.  this girl posted the most wonderful post today...it was so sweet that i literally teared up :]  check it out for a list of incredibly talented ladies that you'll definitely want to check out.  i'm blessed to be able to call about half of them friends, and i can vouch and say they are all amazing. :]

4.  here's a peak at a few things i've been working on and a few materials i've been working with... things are about to get very busy over here in the robot*zombie factory come these next few weeks.  i'm participating in the craft swap sponsored by jamie, and i have 21 (yes, that's TWENTY ONE) little crafties to crank out and send to her in about 3 weeks time.  eesh, it'll be a tight deadline, but i think i can manage! :]  it's a really flippin' cool concept, and i'll be sure to keep my eyes and ears peeled for news of another one and give you all head's up so you can participate next time.

also, after completing a few things off my list of todo's (see post below) i treated myself with 2 hours of pool time. :] it was muuuuuuch needed!  while floating on my raft, soaking up the rays, i snapped this picture with my phone and holy crap it came out wicked cool!

i'm not even sure how it happened but i do know that it looks pretty frickin sweet! :]

also, i'm working on a new painting...apologies for the horrible orange tint...my kitchen is full of 1970's orange-y stained wood, and it casts an unflattering glow on anything snapped in the kitchen or dining room...

lastly, it's time to announce the winner of my giveaway!  of course, if you've been keeping up with the blog, you will have figured out that the little kitten's name was nutmeg...and this lovely friend came up with it...

it really was the perfect name for the little one...it fit him so perfectly! :]  so congratulations, rami, i will be personalizing your tote and you will be receiving it soon!  (i know you're super excited!!!)

alright kiddos, i've relaxed enough for one afternoon.  reward time is over...time to get back to work!

right now i'd love to be enjoying a little bit of this...

but there's a loooooooong todo list before i return to work tomorrow night...

*complete ALL laundry

*clean out and organize laundry room

*remove rox's existing litter box and put together the oh-so-cool new one

*cut grass

*clean both bathrooms thoroughly

*go through mail and map out this months bills

*organize and purge through the pantry.

this may not seem like much, but i assure it will take up the majority of this day.  i sure do hope that i can finish in time to maybe catch an hour or two at the pool?  i'll keep my fingers crossed :]

photobooth friday!!!

good evening - or really i guess it's good morning! :]

i will be guest blogging as a polkadot robot over on the lovely and wonderfully talented vivianna's blog this week...go check out the mega PDR edition of photobooth friday with appearances from other guest robots, whose faces you might find familiar :]

i really want to "bling my blog", but i don't know how.  it's sooooo boring the way it is.  any ideas?

happy ears, baby kitten and a giveaway!!!

sooooo, i spent the entire night crafting and partying over at elsie's blog party...didn't crash until 5am!  so in light of a wonderful night, i have a few things for you...

first:  happy ears sunday! (i began writing this post last night, so it counts!) :]  i've been doing a lot of crafting this week, therefore listening to a lot of rad music.  here are a few of my favorites today:

1.  simon and garfunkel...an oldy but such a goody!  their music is timeless and so peaceful :] i can never get enough.

2.  "nightingale song" by toad the wet sprocket.  holy cupcakes that song is sooo beautiful.

3.  "living room" by tegan and sarah.  i think it would be really hard for me to ever not like this song.

4.  the mama mia soundtrack... i love abba and i adore the movie.  it's super fun to blare it and sing at the top of  your lungs while driving down the interstate :]

5.  i've been listening to a lot of the decemberists lately.  if you haven't picked up their new album, the hazards of love, you reeeeaaaaaly should!  it's magical!

so, i heard the saddest thing the other day...one of my crewmembers found an abandoned litter of kittens.  they were only 2 weeks old - half of them didn't even have their eyes open yet!  she was desperately trying to find homes for them all so that she wouldn't have to take them to a shelter...and how could i say no?  so i gave this little guy/gal a warm and loving home...

(better picture soon, i hope...it's hard to get him to stay still!)

he's so stinkin' cute and so stinkin' tiny!  he can fit in one of my hands. :] since he's so young, he should technically still be nursing, but since mama kitty ran off, i have been bottle feeding it kitten formula every 2-3 hours, around the clock.  it's been a challenge, but it's totally worth it to know that i saved it from a possible traumatic life and death.  he's such a cute little fellow and so loving.  i can't wait for him to become a bit more playful as he gets older. :] 

well now that you two have become acquainted, this brings me to the next thing on my agenda for today...a giveaway!!!  it's the first giveaway on my blog, so i figured it was about time. :]  here's the challenge...i can't think of a name for my new little friend, so i'm going to leave it up to you guys!  since i'm still not sure of the kitten's gender, names should be fairly androgynous, and being adorable is a must!  he's gray and a dark ashy brown with tee tiny little tiger stripes all over.  he has pretty blue eyes too :]  his big brother's name is rox, if that helps any (it's shortened from roxie...we thought he was a girl until he was about 8 months old :] oops!)  please leave your name, email address (or other way to contact you) and the name(s) for my little one that you'd like considered.  the person who comes up with the winning name will get one of these lovelies:
